Urrea Vein

Urrea is a gold and copper-rich northwesterly trending vein hosted in Paleocene rhyolitic pyroclastic rocks.

Principal historic workings of the Urrea Vein are centered 540 meters southwest of La Gloria crosscut in the southeast quadrant of the Property. Mineralization is controlled by a shear zone about 4 meters wide with an average orientation of 155°/71° SW that is hosted in medium-bedded rhyolitic lapilli tuffs of Paleocene age oriented 052°/45° SE. The shear zone is intruded by pre-mineral mafic dikes. Historic gold production from oxidized mineralization was extracted from at least 10 adits driven along the Urrea Vein at 833-, 842-, 852-, 882-, 910-, 1022-, 1039-, 1043-, 1058- and 1131- meters elevation. These adits range from 6 to 42 meters long, define a strike length of about 400 meters, and are 1 to 2.5 meters wide. Underground rock chip-channel sample lines were cut across the back of the adits every 2 to 4 meters. Surface trenches across the Urrea Vein are spaced 15 to 40 meters apart and range from 4 to 27 meters wide. About 1 kilometer southeast of the mapped underground workings, Urrea Vein strikes into reconnaissance sample MCA-25866. This vein has not been tested by diamond drilling.

Geological Plan Level 852 m of the Urrea Vein showing sample lines mentioned in the above Table

Mineralization consists mainly of sphalerite, chalcopyrite, specularite and galena in the vein and as cockade rims around breccia fragments. The vein selvedge and fragment rims are altered to black mica that is commonly replaced by chlorite. Sulfides in the shear zone are altered to supergene minerals such as chalcocite, chrysocolla and anglesite. Assay values of up to 109.14 g/t gold and 20 g/t silver are on Level 852 at 14 meters (sample line MCA-27405). Data from underground samples support an indicated resource estimate of 44,188 tonnes with an average grade of 4.55 g/t gold, 22 g/t silver, 0.4% copper, 0.8% zinc and 1.6% lead using a cut-off grade of 1.83 g/t gold-equivalent metal. Inferred resources are 35,113 tonnes of 4.97 g/t gold, 19 g/t silver, 0.4% copper, 0.7% zinc and 1.6% lead. Information regarding the mineral resource estimate is here.

Sample 27404, Urrea Vein, Level 852, 18 meters. This sample contains 4.14 g/t gold, 17 g/t silver, 1.18% copper, 0.43% lead, 0.36% zinc, 8 ppm molybdenum, 34 ppm bismuth and 101 ppm tungsten across 0.7 m. The image shows a cockade breccia with black mica developed on the fragment margins. The mica is altered to chlorite. Blue copper minerals include chrysocolla and copper sulfates.
Image of a small un-numbered adit at 1022 meters elevation on the Urrea Vein. Sample MCA-25235 cut across the red mineralization contains 20.21 g/t gold, 22 g/t silver, 19.4% lead, 14.9% iron, 0.28% zinc and 0.13% copper across 0.5 meters.
